Ryd Cook has been an independent filmmaker for over 10 years. He makes fun, uplifting Films about and inspired by life, people & experiences. He has made drama, comedy and documentary films. His films have screened in festivals around the world including San Francisco, New York,Paris, London, & Cambridge. His short film Thrown won him Best Director (Short Film) at Bootleg Film Festival Toronto, 2012. He has been teaching filmmaking for over 5 years and is able to teach all ages. Films made on his courses have won awards at the Cambridge Young Peoples Film Festival & BFI Future Film Festival. And screened in the Kids for Kids Film

Areas of film taught
Ryd devises, teaches on and runs the film production part of the Cambridgeshire Film Consortium’s BFI Film Academy (ages 16-19). He also runs regular Short Cuts (ages 9-13) and Jump Cuts (ages 14-19) filmmaking courses for young people. As well as this he runs Introduction to Filmmaking (ages 21+). He is a good all-rounder and can teach many areas of filmmaking, he specialises in teaching Directing, Camera, Editing, & Cinematography. He can teach fiction & documentary filmmaking.
